Seems like we should have a place to report website issue.

8/23/2011 - we need to track down why the site takes so long to load. It is too long.

It seems to load reasonably fast. But it takes a while to start.
For me, with Portbridge as an ISP, the trace is to Washington DC, then Atlanta, then Houston, then the trace stops. But the IP address 174.123.35.242 appears to be hosted by The Planet in Houston.
But some some very limited testing it appears that the slowdown is tied to the start of the page load.

I suspect it has something to do with what ever the the server is trying to accomplish when the page is requested.

Working very quickly now. It was horrible a few days ago.

Thanks for creating this thread. It helps me tremendously with getting to known issues.
I believe the load issues are all worked out, please let me know if you are experiencing any further issues. I've also fixed a few minor link issues with the headers and footers.

I noticed that Chrome for windows does not display our website - Chrome running on XP - also,...
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/tmugorg/public_html/wp-settings.php:329) in /home/tmugorg/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 866
That error displays if you type in tmug.org (without www) into the URL window.

I think the forums RSS feed is broken. I haven't had any updates in awhile now. Tonight I went looking to set it up again and found the link ... but clicking gave me waht appears to be an error. (See below - this was followed by the actual XML.) Chrome on a Macbook running OS X 10.7.3.
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

So I have been meaning to write this for a long time, apologies for not doing so earlier.
I believe that we could make better use of the wordpress software and make life much easier for anyone updating the site .
Right now, correct me if I am wrong, Chips, when the front page of the website gets edited, and administrator logs in and use the 'edit page " button on the toolbar. then the information is updated.
I think a better way would be if the editor would click on the "+ New" button and add a new post - and add the information that way. this has many advantages
1. auto archives the information - and in an accessible way members can use.
2. updating the front pages this way can be timed. The editor doesn't have to finish the announcements all at once. this makes life easier for the person updating the front page.
3. by now there would be ways for people to single click and re-post our from page to twitter and facebook. You really wouldn't want to do that with a static front page.I don't think the front pages is set up to handle this. Correct me if I am wrong.
This method benefits the website in other ways - the right side bar could actually be a series of "blog" and we simply update theses blogs as we need them. Like "special promotion" blog. and "join" blog and support our friends blog...whatever.
right now the website has 24 pages and 2 updates - so I don't think we are doing it right.
