I have not deleted by TMUG.org mail account from my Apple Mail application. I have a lot of 'Sent' emails that I want to preserve. If I delete the now defunct TMUG mail account, what happens to my 'sent' emails? Will I still be able to see and access them in Mail, or will they poof, vanish with the account itself?
By the way, I would still like to see an email 'Journal' substitute for the old email forum.

I assume you have other email accounts. And at least one of them is local to your computer. (POP, not IMAP) If so you should be able to create a folder on one of those email accounts and drag the emails from the TMUG account to the folder(s) on the other account. Mail might even let you drag the entire folder.
I'm speculating here since I do not use Mail.app.
