Directions to TMUG @ ATC / McKinney

Our meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. We are in the process of finding a new location (or locations) for our meetings after nearly 4 years at the North Carolina Mutual Life Building in downtown Durham, NC.

For February, 2008 we will meet at the offices of the McKinney advertising agency following a kind invitation from them. McKinney is located in the American Tobacco Campus complex on the 2nd floor of the Reed Bldg. There are two ways into their facility: (a) through McKinney's main entrance at 318 Blackwell Street; or (b) from the Lucky Strike water tower walkway in the ATC courtyard. There will be monitors at the locked doors to let attendees in.

Free parking is available in either the north or south parking decks, along Julian Carr St. between the decks, or on Blackwell St. (across from the Durham Bulls Athletic Park). If you park in the decks or on Julian Carr St., come across the courtyard (& through Bay 7 if necessary) toward the water tower to the west entrance for McKinney in the Reed Bldg.

Driving Directions

If you are coming from I-40 in the Raleigh / RTP area:

• Take [Exit 279B] off of I-40 onto Highway 147 (The Durham Freeway).
• Continue on the freeway to Roxboro Street [Exit 12B].
• Continue on Jackie Robinson Dr. / Willard St. through 2 lights, passing the Durham Bulls ballpark on the right.
• Either turn right onto Blackwell Street & park;
  • or
• Continue on Jackie Robinson / Willard past American Tobacco Campus & turn into the South Parking Deck;
  • or
• Continue on Willard past the South deck & turn right on Julian Carr Street & park;
  • or
• Continue on Julian Carr St to the North deck & park.
• From parking on the west of ATC, cross the courtyard past the water tower to McKinney.

Alternatively:

• Continue on the freeway to Duke Street [Exit 12C] as if you were going to NCML.
• (The exit is just past the Durham Bulls ballpark on the right.)
• Turn right onto S. Duke Street.
• Turn right at the first light, which is Jackson Street.
• Either turn right on Willard Street, continue to Carr St. or the South deck, turn left & park;
  • or
• Continue on Jackson Street to Julian Carr St. & turn left into the North deck or turn right & park;
• From parking on the west of ATC, cross the courtyard past the water tower to McKinney.

If you are coming from Chapel Hill via U.S. 15-501:

• Take 15-501 North toward Durham.
• In Durham, take 15-501 Bypass.
• Take the Durham Freeway exit [NC 147 South].
• Continue until you see the Chapel Hill Street [exit 13].
• Turn left onto Chapel Hill Street.
• Continue through 2 lights past NCML on your right & turn right on Pettigrew St.
• Turn right into the North parking deck & park;
  • or
• Continue through the North deck onto Julian Carr St. & park;
  • or
• Continue on Julian Carr St. to Willard St., turn left, turn left into the South deck & park.

If you are coming from Hillsborough, Burlington, or points west:

• Take I-85 east toward Durham.
• Take the Durham Freeway / NC 147 South [exit 172].
• Continue until you see the Chapel Hill Street [exit 13].
• Turn left onto Chapel Hill Street.
• Continue through 2 lights past NCML on your right & turn right on Pettigrew St.
• Turn right into the North parking deck & park;
  • or
• Continue through the North deck onto Julian Carr St. & park;
  • or
• Continue on Julian Carr St. to Willard St., turn left, turn left into the South deck & park.
