Directions to TMUG @ NCSU / Caldwell Hall

Our meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. We are in the process of finding a new location (or locations) for our meetings after nearly 4 years at the North Carolina Mutual Life Building in downtown Durham, NC.

For March, 2008 we will meet on the North Campus of NC State University in Raleigh in Caldwell Hall at 2221 Hillsborough Street. We will meet in the large open meeting space on the lower floor on the south side of Caldwell. Thanks to TMUG President Allen Emory for acquiring the space in his office building.

Free parking is available at various locations on or near the North Campus, including the parking lot off Oberlin Road at Hillsborough Street, diagonally across from the Bell Tower. Directions follow. Note that other parking is available, but be aware that most campus spaces are designated for specific parking permits, & limited spaces are open to the public. Some permitted spaces are for business hours.

Caldwell Hall is nr. 25 on the map.

Parking is in the lot off Oberlin Rd. Walk down Hillsborough Street and enter through Tompkins or Winston Hall

Driving directions to Caldwell Hall, NC State University North Campus

If you are coming from Durham, Chapel Hill & points west:

• Follow I-40 east toward Raleigh.
• Take exit 289 - Wade Ave.
• Continue ~3 mi to I-440 / US-1 south (right - exit 4).
• Continue ~0.8 mi to exit 3 for Hillsborough St.
• Turn left at the light onto Hillsborough St.
• Continue ~3 mi, passing Dan Allen Dr. & Brooks Ave. NCSU campus will be on the right.
• Note that Caldwell Hall is between Winston & Tompkins Halls (on the right) directly across the street from North Residence Hall.
• Continue past Watauga Club Dr. & the Bell Tower (on the right) & take the next left into the public parking lot (off Oberlin Rd.).
• Walk across Hillsborough St. & down the sidewalk to enter Caldwell Hall.
• The meeting will be in the large open lounge on the ground floor on the south side of Caldwell Hall.
• Note that you may park in any available space that is marked "public". Parking in a space that is marked for a specific permit may result in a ticket.

If you are coming from Cary or points south:

• Get on US-1 & continue north toward Raleigh, continuing on I-440.
• Take exit 3 for Hillsborough St.
• Turn left at the light onto Hillsborough St.
• Follow the directions above.

If you are coming from Raleigh:

• Take the appropriate route from your location to NC State North Campus & Hillsborough St.
• If you are heading toward campus on Hillsborough St. from the west, follow the directions above.
• If you are heading toward campus on Hillsborough St. from the east (downtown), turn right onto Oberlin Rd. before the Bell Tower.
• Take the next left into the public parking lot.
• Walk across Hillsborough St. & down the sidewalk to enter Caldwell Hall.
• The meeting will be in the large open lounge on the ground floor on the south side of Caldwell Hall.
• Note that you may park in any available space that is marked "public". Parking in a space that is marked for a specific permit may result in a ticket.
