New Meeting Place Decided

The runoff ballot in the search for a new TMUG home has ended. Hope Community Church was the members' favorite. Click here to find about more about the results of the runoff ballot. The results of the first ballot can be found here. Congratulations to everyone who helped move the process along. Change is going to be difficult for some, we are sure. Let's all do our best to make this change a positive one for TMUG.

TMUG's Executive Committee met on Monday, April, 28th @ 7:00 pm at the Panera Bread in Brier Creek. The members' votes were split by 15 points, generally between members from Wake vs. Durham & Orange counties. XCom discussed options to try to make meetings less inconvenient to some members.

May 12 Meeting

Now that TMUG has found a new home, it's time to form a new executive committee. At the next monthly meeting on May 12, we want to move forward with nominations so that the membership can vote at the June meeting. As always, we're looking for TMUG members to get involved and help push and pull the group into the future. If you'd like to volunteer for a executive committee post, we will welcome your participation. The ad hoc Nominations Committee is soliciting nominations to the slate of 5 officers: President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, & Tresurer. Check TMUG's bylaws to read about the officers' duties & the election process.

For the May program, we're giving the floor back to out-going President Allen Emory. Allen will continue the presentation he began several months ago on VectorDesigner and Pixelmator, graphic applications that were part of the MacHeist bundle offered on-line in January. These are relatively new applications that can do some of the work of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop at much lower costs.

As he does most every month, TMUG member Bob Chandler will facilitate answers to your Mac, iPod, and iPhone questions before the main program. And, of course, we'll have door prizes for TMUG members. We hope you'll join us at 6:30 pm on May 12 at Hope Community Church on Buck Jones Road in Raleigh. Remember, TMUG is the undisputed leading Mac User Group in the Triangle! We hope you can be there.

TMUG meetings are free and open to the public. For more info, please go to about TMUG.

Our meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of every month at 6:30 pm, at the Hope Community Church in Raleigh near Cary. We start each meeting with a Q&A session, take a quick break to network with each other, and then resume with a presentation or program of varying length, content, and complexity.

Various experts on different aspects of Mac hardware & software are usually in attendance to lend their expertise in answering your questions. Attendees may take advantage of free public wifi (courtesy of our host Hope Community Church) and an occasional raffle. Members get a chance at not 1 but 2 or more door prizes each meeting. And last but not least, we socialize, not only during the meeting, but usually afterwards at a local eating establishment or watering hole. We hope to see you there!
