TMUG December Holiday Party

The December 12 TMUG meeting will be our annual multi-holiday, non-denominational, early-winter celebration. We will have a variety of foods, show member suggested Apple related videos, and have a 5-way raffle with 5 cool Apple items as prizes. If you have a favorite Apple, Mac, iPod, iPhone, or iPad video you would like to share at the meeting, please suggest it by replying to this forum post.

The prizes for the raffle are [1] an Apple TV, [2] Apple Wireless Keyboard with an Incase Origami Workstation, [3] an Apple Magic Mouse, [4] Apple Wireless Keyboard, and [5] anApple Magic Trackpad. Raffle tickets costs $5 for 5 or $20 for 25, in groups of 5. You enter the raffle by putting as many tickets as you want into the sack for a specific prize. A winning ticket will be drawn for each prize from the sack for that prize.

A regular feature of each TMUG meeting is the usually informative Q&A session. Bob Chandler will be on hand to moderate the discussion. Bring your questions for the group to try and answer. If you are a TMUG member, be sure to get a ticket for the door prize drawings, too. There are a variety of prizes, including Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs, A Biography.

Have you entered TMUG’s MacBook Air membership contest? The contest has 2 purposes – we are celebrating and promoting TMUG’s new web presence and we are having a membership drive. The winner of the contest will get a new Apple 11″ MacBook Air (or Apple product of equivalent value at the end of the contest).

The contest is similar to the iMac giveaway contest we held 3 years ago. Members get points for renewing, attending meetings, & participating on the forum. You’re not a TMUG member? Join or renew your membership now to start earning points. Details are published on the MacBook Air Contest web page, along with a member point tally table. Check the contest entry log to verify that your points have been tallied correctly.

Keep checking TMUG.org, or our presence on Google+ (just added), Meetup, Twitter, or Facebook for updates & details. We hope that TMUG members & other folks in our community will participate in the forum at our new home. Forum subscribers may opt to receive email notifications when a topic or reply is posted on the forum. (The glitch that prevented the option from being turned off was fixed on 12.9.11.)

You don’t have to be a TMUG member to attend TMUG meetings or to participate on the TMUG forum, but a membership will grant you greater access to our services, including entries in our MacBook Air contest & our monthly door prizes. And it will likely give you a warm feeling inside. Join or renew your TMUG membership for only $35 for a full year. You may pay with cash, check, or most major credit & debit cards at a monthly meeting. (We are using the Square card reader for iOS for card payments, which will send you a receipt by email. TMUG absorbs the transaction fees using this card payment system as a convenience to members.) If you can’t make it to a meeting, you may also join or renew by mail by completing a membership application & sending your check to our PO box.
